Biography

Deepa Sashindran is a distinguished Kuchipudi exponent with 43 years of dedicated practice in the art form. She began training under renowned Kuchipudi Guru Smt. Manju Barggavee at the age of 8, becoming her first disciple to complete Rangapravesham (formal debut) — a lasting association now spanning more than three decades. She follows the Guru Parampara lineage of Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, while continually exploring new creative dimensions within the tradition.

Beyond Dance

A Law Graduate and a Human Resources Transformation mentor with 25 years of experience in the software industry, Deepa also built and led a human capital management firm for over a decade. She has served as Past President, Rotary Bangalore Rajmahal Vilas, and is currently Vice President, India Rising Foundation.
